Three army jawans killed in an ambush in Upper Assam’s Pengari
A team of 15 militants belonging to NSCN-K and anti-talk ULFA ambushed an army vehicle in Assam’s Pengari area. Three army jawans are killed and another four injured in the attack.
The attack took place around 5.30am on Saturday. Superintendent of police of the district, Mugdha Jyoti Mahanta said, “There were inputs that militants are planning such strike. Militants have fired on army vehicle and attacked with RPG.”
Recently anti-talk ULFA militants have attacked a cash carry van in which one person was killed.
Assam Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal said that government will ensure that culprits are punished. Sonowal has directed Director General of police, Mukesh Sahay to rush to the spot.
