Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag today reviewed the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and instructed his troops to be alert against the enemy’s inimical designs. He encouraged them to be aggressive in their approach.

The army said Gen. Suhag visited the Northern Command headquarters at Udhampur in J&K. The visit comes a day after Pakistan said the Indian army killed seven of its soldiers in shelling.

“The Army Chief exhorted the troops to be alert against any enemy inimical designs and be aggressive in their approach,” read a statement issued by the Northern Army Command.

“The General interacted with formation commanders and reviewed the situation along the Line of Control as well as the internal security situation in the Command theatre,” reads the statement.

“The Army Chief commended the soldiers for boldly responding to ceasefire violations along the Line of Control,” as per the statement.

Gen Suhag also lauded the synergy and cooperation between the Northern Command, Air Force, paramilitary forces and civil administration operating in the region.
