The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) will have on display both the Y-20 cargo aircraft and J-31 stealth fighter at the Zhuhai Airshow in November, reported Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua.

The Xian-built Y-20 “Kunpeng” heavy cargo transport and the Shenyang-built J-31 stealth multirole fighter appeared for the first time at the 2014 China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as the Zhuhai Airshow.

The return for the 2016 air show demonstrates a significant Chinese effort to market its advanced aviation manufacturing capabilities to the international community. The J-31 was marketed to the international market in 2014 as the FC-31, and the Chengdu-built J-10 fighter was promoted as the FC-20.

The air show, scheduled for Nov. 1-6, in Guangdong, China, is now the largest air show in Asia, greatly outshining the Singapore Airshow in size and variety in both the commercial and military markets. US and European commercial companies, such as Boeing and Airbus, erect large booths and chalets to market their aircraft; though US defense companies are prohibited by sanctions to sell weapons to China, the Russians, Europeans, South Africans and others are heavily invested in the defense customer base who attend.
