NVIDIA decided to change the launch date of GTX 1060 3GB (originally it was August 24th) probably to steal some spotlight from ZEN presentation coming at the same time.

The new version of GTX 1060 will feature 1152 CUDA cores, 72 TMUs and 3GB frame buffer. That’s pretty much the only difference between 6GB and 3GB variants. Even the cards will look the same as 6GB models.
